Tour of Tassie Feast: What a night!

Where do we begin on an incredible fundraising event?!

Thank you to each and every one of our partners, sponsors and volunteers that made the night unforgettable. Thank you to each of our guest, over 200 in total for one amazing and successful Tour of Tassie Feast.

We’re thrilled to announce just how successful our night was. With all of your support, we raised a total of $47,842!

This is a record amount to be fundraised and blows away the great effort of last year. All funds will be going directly to disadvantaged youth or services that provide direct benefit to disadvantaged youth, through our efforts over the next 12 months.

Our Feast definitely took us on a Tour of Tassie with all food and beverages sourced locally from around Tasmania. We were delighted to host over 200 guests for the evening - thank you to everyone that attended.

We were fortunate to have Stephen spend time with us on the evening and bravely share his story. Stephen was what we would refer to as a “disadvantaged youth”. His raw account of his life had the attention of every one of our guests. On his 12th birthday, he was given up by his family and taken to a boys home where he was abused. This was just the start of what led to a life of alcohol, drugs and trouble with the law.

Hearing his story was insightful to say the least, to hear how a boy can easily get lost in the system and caught up on the wrong path with no knowledge of how to break the cycle.

Stephen says his story isn’t pretty, but it’s also not unique. Unfortunately it is the story that many young men share. This is one of the reasons the Rob Fairs Foundation exists, to give them a fair go and give them the best change in life. The whole reason Stephen came over to spend time with us and share his story was because he didn’t have a Rob Fairs Foundation looking out for him. He sees he difference organisations like ours can make in young peoples’ lives.

It was great to hear how Stephen did turn his life around however and what a positive impact he is now having on many young lives today with his organisation Empathy not Sympathy.

Huge shout out to our partner, Country Club Tasmania, and to our sponsors and contributors to the event - all 35 of them! These events don’t happen on their own, and we are so appreciative to each business that made this night possible:

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success.
